Second Round of Woodworking Workshop and Consultation Rounds – we want to hear from you!

In the ALIGNED project we plan to improve the methods of assessing the environmental impacts of bio-based industries, including the woodworking industry. Therefore, several methods were developed during the project.

This consultation is meant to gather information on the woodworking sector’s perspectives regarding the ways in which the sector can become more sustainable, and how environmental impact assessment can help in this transition to more sustainability. Key question in this is ‘What does the woodworking sector think about the new Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) methodologies developed in ALIGNED and how can these be implemented by the sector?’

It will take you about 5-10 minutes to fill in this survey and your answers will help us gain further insight into the views of the woodworking sector on how to improve its sustainability.

ALIGNED Woodworking Sustainability Workshop

We are organising on 22 April 2025 from 10.00 – 11.30 hours a free online ALIGNED woodworking workshop.

The overall goal of the workshop is to help improve the environmental sustainability of the woodworking sector through Life Cycle Assessment. As part of the ALIGNED project, we have explored innovative ways to measure and enhance sustainability in the woodworking sector. During this workshop, we will present key findings from our “Softwood vs Azobe wood (tropical hardwood) in water infrastructure” LCA case study and engage in an interactive discussion on actionable recommendations for a more sustainable woodworking industry.

The session will conclude with an interactive discussion on the utilization of these methodologies in the woodworking sector and the results of the consultation. If you did not yet participate in the online consultation, we would kindly request you to take a few minutes to fill out the form.
